Role Overview.

The Technical Production Assistant plays a vital behind-the-scenes role in delivering smooth, on-brand livestream campaigns across TikTok Shop and other platforms. Whether operating in our studios or on location, you’ll take ownership of the show environment, setting the stage, prepping the kit, merchandising the product, and keeping everything technically sound and brand-aligned.

This role combines technical operations with live support and creative execution. You’ll collaborate closely with presenters, account managers, content leads, and other techs to ensure each livestream meets the brief and delivers commercial impact, including optimising for watch time,. conversion and audience retention. Calm under pressure, you’ll troubleshoot issues, manage gear, and maintain a comfortable, focused space for presenters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and strike livestream equipment including cameras, microphones, lighting, and software (OBS) in studio and on location.
  • Merchandise product displays and configure physical sets to meet brand visual standards and campaign goals.
  • Check lighting, camera focus and angles, audio, and output integrity before each stream.
  • Support presenter prep including briefing on offers, bundles, and campaign talking points based on live brand objectives; ensure they’re seated and camera-ready on time.
  • Deliver presenter support during live shows, from managing environmental needs (e.g. breaks, hydration, comfort) to live tech troubleshooting.
  • Monitor stream outputs and escalate technical issues promptly to protect live performance and audience experience.
  • Complete shutdown sheets post-show, logging successes, technical notes, and well-being concerns to inform future delivery.
  • Maintain gear condition through regular checks and maintenance, reporting issues proactively.
  • Keep studio and location setups clean, safe, and well-organised
  • Participate in rehearsals and test streams to ensure presenter confidence and production consistency.
  • Champion the “show” mentality, owning the quality of livestream delivery from tech setup to brand tone, and ensuring delivery builds trust and consistency.

Requirements.

  • Proficient with OBS and livestream software for broadcast setup and streaming.
  • Practical experience with AV kit including cameras, audio, lighting, tripods, and rigging.
  • Confident troubleshooting in live environments with a solutions-first approach.
  • Excellent eye for detail, catching visual or sound issues before they hit the stream.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to give clear instructions and collaborate calmly under pressure.
  • Self-motivated, organised and punctual, with the ability to handle multiple set-ups and shows in a day

Additional Skills & Experience.

  • Prior studio or livestream production experience (internships and freelance included).
  • Basic understanding of eCommerce campaigns and digital marketing goals.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (e.g. Shopify, WordPress) and Google Workspace.
  • Comfortable supporting livestreams across various locations, including client sites and retail spaces.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
  • Clear communicator who can work well with cross-functional teams and presenters
  • Willingness to travel and support livestreams across different locations and setups
